Spirit comments and survey

PVI2014-Disc-LogoAs of last week every team should have received their spirit comments. Please let me know if you haven’t received comments for your team.

Also, if you haven’t already, please take a minute to fill out the short post-tournament survey. We are looking to get any and all comments from anyone who attended the event — players, coaches, chaperones, and spectators. The more information you can provide us the better! We know that filling out feedback surveys can be a drag, but know that the best way for us to improve the event, by far, is to hear from you… and, as a bonus, everyone who fills out the survey has the option of being entered into a raffle for a tournament hat and shirt!

Thanks!

Thanks for coming!

Thanks for coming!

Thank you for an utterly phenomenal 1st annual Pioneer Valley Invitational!

The 60+ volunteers and I thank you so much for being such wonderful teams. We couldn’t be happier with how everything has turned out, and so much of that has to do with you — the teams!

We received more coverage in the local paper this morning that you can check out right here (online) or here (PDF).

Here’s what we’d like from you at this point:

1) Please look over the reported game scores: Girls Divisions, Open Division. Let me know via email (josh@pvinvite.org) if you see any numbers that aren’t right. At this point I have posted all submitted game scores as well as all spirit results.

2) We’d like everyone that attended the event — players, coaches, chaperones, spectators — to fill out this short online feedback survey. The information you submit will helps us build an even better event in 2015! We know that filling out feedback surveys can be a drag, but know that the best way for us to improve the event, by far, is to hear from you… and, as a bonus, everyone who fills out the survey has the option of being entered into a raffle for a tournament hat and shirt!

3) We’d love to see any and all photos and video that you took this weekend. Please post whatever you can share to the PVI2014 Facebook page. If it’s easier, feel free to email me content or links.

Here’s what’s coming up:

1) Over the next few days I will be emailing each team the comments I received about their spirit. My hope is to be able to get all of those emails out in the next 3 days.

2) The PVI2015! At this point all we know about the PVI2015 is that we very much hope to hold the event in the same location (Oxbow Marina) on the same weekend (May 16th and 17th, 2015). Info updates regarding the PVI2015 will be posted on this page as they coalesce.

See ya’ll on the field.

Sunday morning reminders

Selfie time!

Selfie time!

Good morning everyone! Here are a few important announcements:

1) Please make sure you report all of your spirit and game scores using this online form. It’s important that you report your information using this form in a timely manner, especially since you’ll also be reporting comments on your opponents’ spirit. Also, in order to make 100% sure we receive spirit scores for every game that’s played, each team will be given a spirit score reporting sheet. Please make sure to turn this sheet in after your last game today.

2) Make sure you stop by the Breakmark tent today! In addition to being able to pickup some free swag for every player (glasses! headphones!) you can join in on the raffle for 20 custom short sleeve sublimated jerseys!

3) Make sure you stay for the awards ceremony, which will happen very soon after the last games are complete (~4:15pm) near tournament central. Trophies and prizes will be awarded in each division for 1st, 2nd, and the spirit winner! We have some GREAT prizes for each award that include trophies, SWAG, and gift certificates!

Tomorrow’s Schedule

PVI2014-Disc-LogoThank you for a phenomenal day of Ultimate! Lots of updates, including photos, have been posted to the tournament Facebook page. If you have photos or videos, please post them to the page as well! We’d love to see them all!

We made it into the local paper this morning! You can check out the article right here or here (PDF).

All of today’s scores (60 in all!) are now online: Girls Divisions, Open Divisions

Please make sure you look over all of your team’s reported scores and let me know if you see any issues (josh@pvinvite.org). Please make sure you know when and where to be tomorrow morning. Most games start at 8am. There is no captain’s meeting tomorrow.

If you haven’t done so already, please make sure you report all of your spirit scores using this formbit.ly/pvi2014-scores. If you’re not sure if you have for a certain game, go ahead and submit it anyway — I will delete duplicates and keep the most recent entry.

The awards ceremony will occur as soon after the last games have finished as possible. We are hoping they will begin at around 4:15pm. Please stay for the ceremony! It’ll only last 10 minutes and it’s going to be awesome!

See you at the dinner/dance/social!

Yes, we are still on!

Screen Shot 2014-03-13 at 10.27.34 PMEverything is on as planned. The captains’ meeting is at 8am. Games start at 8:30am.

One small change since last night: There has been a small shuffle of teams in the Open division. Cumberland is now in the B division and Longmeadow JV is in the A division. Hopkinton is now in a different A division pool (D). You can check out the full schedule right here.

See you very soon!

5/16 Update – 9pm

Here’s where we stand:

1) Nothing is delayed. Captains’ meeting at 8am. Games start at 8:30am.
