PVI2023 Spirit Award Winners!

Lots more information is coming soon, but now it’s time to sleep.

IMPORTANT: 17 teams NOT cleared to play. Needs fixing TODAY.

Final division assignments won’t be made until tomorrow at the earliest since…

The 17 teams listed below are NOT cleared to play. Reasons you could NOT be cleared to play include:

  • No chaperone on your roster.
  • Not enough cleared players on your roster (You need at least 10)
  • Missing a payment: Bid fee, housing, and/or dinner fee.

You can check the reason for your team not being cleared by looking over the team status page. Scroll to the right on the spreadsheet to see all the columns. Everything we are tracking is on that sheet. Please let us know if you see any issues with your team’s row.

Please keep in mind that the USA Ultimate online rostering system is going to be locked very soon, almost certainly in the next 24 hours.

We are finalizing our dinner order tomorrow (5/8) @ Noon. If you do not pay for your dinner tickets by then, you won’t be able to get food at the dinner social on Saturday night. These teams have asked for dinner tickets but have not yet paid for them:

Dinner tickets cost $14 per person. At this point you must pay digitally. You can find out how to do that here. Please remember to forward me (josh@pvinvite.org) your dinner PayPal payment receipt. If we don’t get your dinner payment by tomorrow (5/8) at Noon we won’t be able to get you dinner tickets.

Thursday afternoon update

Mark your calendars! PVI2023 will be on May 13th and 14th, 2023!

Please make sure you drive 15mph or slower on Island Rd! (Getting the sense that this is important? :))

Lee the Legend!

Rebooting an event of this size is challenging and incredibly rewarding. A big reason the event happens at all — probably the biggest — is Lee the Legend ™. Some of the extraordinary work he does is mow our 20 acres of fields and put down all the field lines… all 3.9 MILES of lines. So, make sure to say hi to Lee his weekend!

One way you can help us out is by walking the fields you’re assigned to BEFORE you use them for playing. This weekend is the first time in several years the fields have all been used, and given that they are on a flood plain, they tend to gather random detritus. We’ve cleared as much as we can, but given the size of the area, we could use your help making sure each field is clear.

Is your online roster perfect? If not and your online roster is locked, please contact Emily at USA Ultimate (emily@hq.usaultimate.org) and let her know the edits you need to make. Keep in mind that at this point not all edits will be possible. Please be very specific with the info you send to her.

The following teams have players with missing memberships:
Boys: Lexington V, Lexington JV
Girls: Needham A, Northfield Mount Hermon V

The word from USA Ultimate is that these teams need to get the memberships taken care of or remove the players from the roster.

Drones are not allowed at the Oxbow.

Unfortunately, dogs are also not allowed at the Oxbow unless they are registered support animals.

Are you and your team deeply familiar with the schedule and program?

During the event scores will be posted on the schedule spreadsheet.

While we would like to have the event created on ScoreReport.net, we don’t currently have the bandwidth to create the pages. That being said, if someone would like to dig in and create the pages, please let us know! Not only would you earn our appreciation by picking up this task, we’d be happy to give you two tournament discs in return! Let us know!

From all of the 125+ volunteers that make the PVI happen… thank you for coming out to the Oxbow for a truly magical weekend of awesome!

If possible, please forward this message to all members of your team.

1) We’d like everyone that attended the event — players, coaches, chaperones, spectators — to fill out this short online feedback survey. The information you submit will helps us build an even better event in 2020! We know that filling out feedback surveys can be a drag, but know that the best way for us to improve the event, by far, is to hear from you.

2) Mark your calendars for May 16th and 17th, 2020! That’s when we’ll be holding the 7th annual PVI! The event will be back at the Oxbow!

3) We’d love to see any and all photos and video that you took this weekend. You can email media and links to media to josh@pvinvite.org. You can also send files directly to us using this link.

4) Details regarding lost and found items will be online soon.

5) Please look over the reported game scores. Let me know via email (josh@pvinvite.org) if you see any numbers that aren’t right. At this point I have posted all submitted game scores as well as all spirit results.

6) All spirit scores are now online (XLS: Girls Division, Boys Division) and embedded below. I will be directly emailing each team their written comments in the next few weeks.

[Green means above average for the division and red means below average for the division. Orange means the high score for that column.]

2017 Program & Parking

The tournament program is now available!

A few notes about field access and parking:

Please realize that violation of driving and/or parking rules is grounds for your entire team to be ejected, immediately, from the event.

  • You must drive 15mph or slower on Island Pond Road. This is the ONLY access road to the field. (Seriously). The road is not long. Please take your time and drive super slow. Please.
  • The parking lot is immediately to the left upon entering the field complex. All vehicles must park in the lot except for large busses.
  • Busses (only!) can park in the lower parking area down by the water. This lot is to the right after you enter the complex. Please, ONLY busses can park by the water. Busses must park on the field side of the parking lot and not the dock side – leaving enough room so that boaters could still park on the dock side.
  • Not sure if you should park in a particular spot? If so, don’t park there.
  • Parking attendants will be on hand.
